Wednesday, Fort Jackson opens a five-day post celebration that starts with an air assault demonstration and ends Sunday with a closing ceremony for a traveling version of the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial.

Graduation is scheduled in conjunction with the air assault show.
Activities on Thursday and Saturday begin in the morning and last as late as 10 p.m. or midnight, respectively.

Friday’s activities include a retiree golf tournament and an Ironman combat assault course.
Saturday’s events begin at noon with a third day of reading names on the Vietnam memorial, a 5K run, health expo, car show and Vietnam veterans parade. The fireworks show is to start at 9:25 p.m. and last about 20 minutes.
On Sunday, the last list of names on the wall will be read, ending at 8 a.m. A closing ceremony for the memorial is to end by 8:30 a.m. Both events are at Hilton Field.
